SOMERSET and England batsman Marcus Trescothick has been booked for a dinner date in Newton Abbot to talk about his Ashes memories.

Trescothick was a member of the England side that registered an historic win over Australia to regain the Ashes in 2005.

And on July 31 the Somerset veteran will be sharing his personal memories and anecdotes of that series, and his thoughts on the 2010 Ashes series, over a curry supper.

The evening, hosted by the Eastern Eye restaurant in Queen Street, will be a fund-raiser the for Children's Hospice South West and South Devon CC.

Trescothick has been a regular visitor to Newton Abbot over the last few years, turning out in testimonial games for team-mates Peter Trego and James Hildreth, as well as his own last season when Somerset took on women's super league champions Western Storm.

Tickets, which include a two-course meal, are available via the South Devon CC website. For more information contact Ian Shepherd on 07919033349 or mail him at ian@southdevoncc.co.uk
