Dec Lines - top scored for Sidmouth in the win over Heathcoat

HEATHCOAT are still top of the Premier Division, but losing to second-placed Sidmouth trimmed their lead to a single point.

Sidmouth were all out for 175 with seven balls left. Openers Josh Bess (39) and Declan Lines (32) the main run getters.

On a good track for spinners there were three wickets each for Heathcoat twirlers Jackson Thompson and Jack Menheneott.

Heathcoat had plenty to do after sliding to 21 for three, Scott Barlow picking up a couple of wickets.

Jack Dart (25) and James Onley-Gregson (23) moved the score along and while the latter was in with Malcolm Cloete (32) it was game on.

Aviwa Mgijima (21) had both caught behind and last pair Christian Cabburn and Menheneott couldn’t make the 26 needed to win.

It could not be much closer at the top of the Premier table with just two points between the top three and Exmouth (4th) a further 11 points behind.

Heathcoat will be aiming to bounce back this Saturday when they face Bradninch in the East Devon derby at Kensham Park.
