PLYMPTON defeated visiting Yealmpton by 101 runs in the first game played in the new Palladium U16 Division.
Both teams were heavily bolstered by under-14s due to the final week of GCSE examinations.
Billy Pitman and Oliver Goulder opened up with a stand of 41 for Plympton.
Next man in Jack Sellick supported Billy Pitman well as he made his way to 50 before retiring.
Sellick soon set about the Yealmpton attack, reaching 40 in 27 balls.
Plympton finished their innings on 175 for two. Oscar Hill and Ed Epps were the Yealmpton wicket takers.
Yealmpton went out showing intent with Epps (20) and Oscar Hill (18) keeping Plympton on their toes.
Despite a small show of resistance by Sam Cumberland who reached 12, Yealmpton could not get a partnership going and the run rate soon got away from them.
Yealmpton finished on 74 for eight. Plympton bowled well, with the highlight Isaac Rowsell's 2-8 off three overs.
Rowsell was Plympton’s fielder of the game and Oliver Dunn picked up the award for Yealmpton.
