Plympton St Maurice v Whitchurch U14 6/6/18
On yet another beautiful evening at Plympton, Whitchurch arrived with 10 men after almost travelling to Callington instead!
With a new captain for the evening in Billy Pitman, St Maurice won the toss and elected to bat. Billy opened with Jack Sellick and both boys hit unbeaten 50 retired to get St Maurice off to a great start. Jack Adams and Jake Agnew looked set to follow them but were out to great catches, especially Josh Lancashire's dismissal of Adams on the boundary. Isaac Rowsell, in at 5 steered St Maurice to a score of 188-6 with an unbeaten 36.
Whitchurch bowlers all went for some runs with the exception of Ben Seattle who finished with excellent figures of 4 wickets for 17 runs.
With such a high target, Whitchurch started quietly but then exploded when Tyler Hunt came to the crease for a swift 50 retired not out including five 6’s. Unfortunately, the pace slowed again after Hunts retirement and Whitchurch ended on 114 for 6. St Maurice won by 74 runs and their bowlers shared the wickets.
Fielders of the night were Jack Adams for St Maurice and Josh Lancashire for Whitchurch for excellent Run Outs and Catches respectively.
