Our second game of the National Championship was the return match against Wales. After a good home win, the Devon girls travelled to Lisvane Cricket Club on a beautiful sunny day, hoping to repeat their previous success. This sadly was not to be, as the middle order struggled to make runs and value their wickets. Openers Emma Corney (18) and Georgia Read (15) started well until Emma was caught by the keeper; though Georgia did well to get Olivia Churcher on strike who put on a good 50. She was also supported well by Katie Harman (20*) coming in at 7. And though the girls batted their overs, it didn't appear only scoring 146 that this wasn't competitive enough.

Katie Donovan opened the bowling for Devon with a tremendous wicket maiden. She also bowled a further two maidens and bowled six overs for just 12 runs. Wickets were rather elusive for the Devon girls, Libby Thomas (70*) batted well as did Ffion Gammon (23*) and the 34 extras helped Wales to victory with 5 overs spare.

Wales won by 7 wickets.
