Trevor Anning, who hit an unbeaten century for Budleigh against Chudleigh

BUDLEIGH Salterion ended their wait for a league win in impressive fashion with a 10-wicket victory over Chudleigh at Ottemouth.

Chudleigh made 202 for five in their 50 overs, led from the get go by opener Ed Foreman with a century.

Foreman, last season’s captain, hit 13 fours and a six  fro 132 balls faced before Joel Murphy got him out.

In a stand of 116 for the first wicket with Alex Haywood (15), Foreman made 83.

Current captain Matt Heather (36) and Dan Britcliffe (18) added 53 unbroken in the latter overs.

Murphy, Trevor Anning and James Leat all bowled 10-overs for less than four runs each.

Budleigh, who hadn’t made it past 120 in either of their first two games, won at a gallop.

Skipper Anning bashed a run-a-ball 116 – 20 fours in that – and Marc Trowman made 76 not out.

Budleigh are still in the bottom three but will be in better spirits now for the trip to Plympton this Saturday.
