South Devon - Brockman Cup winners in 2002

BRIXHAM bombed Stokinteignhead out of the Brockman Cup by 75 runs in a one-sided affair at Boundary Park.

Connor Ashworth top scored for Brixham with 30 in their 20-over total of 116 for five. Adam Edwards (22) and Tom Blundell (21) chipped in.

Mike Lang (2-14) had the most effective four-over spell for Stokeinteignhead, who have been beaten finalists in the past two seasons.

Paul Russell and Sreejith Sankaranarayanan – indentical spells of one for 18 – were almost as mean.

If keeping the runs down wasn’t a problem for the Villagers, scoring them was. Stoke were all out for 41 in the 13thover – no one making more than Sankaranarayanan, who scored eight.

Man of the moment with the ball for Brixham was Tom Stephenson, who took five wickets for nine runs.

Adam Edwards bowled four balls at the end and picked up two wickets for three runs given away.
