DEVON have called off Sunday’s planned T20 day against University of Exeter at North Devon CC due to the recent spate of bad weather.
Devon had hoped to play two games against the Students as part of their preparations for the new Unicorns T20 tournament being launched in early May.
Andy Cameron, the North Devon groundsman, has been fighting a losing battle against waterlogging for days and has ruled out any chance of playing this week.
“Everything is wet – your boots just sink into the ground,” said Cameron.
Devon haven’t tried to find a new venue as the weather has been the same all over the county.
“If you went to another club it would be the same story so we decided not to,” said Donohue.
“Hopefully, we will be able to get the game on against Somerset 2ndXI at Sidmouth on April 15.”
