Sandford - the new season looms

PREMIER new boys Sandford have started indoor nets ahead of their return to the top flight.

Monday night (7.00-9.00 pm) is practice night for Richard Foan’s side in the indoor facility at the Devon Cricket Centre on the University of Exeter campus.

Skipper Foan is still working on team building – and keeping his cards close to is chest for now.

“The team is very similar to last season and everyone is up for the challenge of Premier cricket,” said Foan.

“The club is is very close to signing an overseas - more news to follow.”

Sandford effectively won promotion last season without an overseas player - quite a feat. The club recruited Ramesh Lakmal, but by late May he had returned home to Sri Lanka

Neil Bettis will vice-captain the side this year. His brother Marc, a keeper-batsman, has committed to the whole season.

Sandford offer cricket to all abilities and are always looking for new members especially in the Crediton. Contact Foan on 07465 923070 for more details.
