Adam Holmes - 165 and five wickets for Honiton

BARNSTAPLE & Pilton didn’t hang about on their way to a six-wicket win over Topsham St James.

Topsham were limited to 120 for five in a game trimmed to 37 overs each due to bad weather.

Ross Treleaven made 33 of the first 84 on the board – he was third out – then Mark Phillips (29) and Matt Garner (22) chipped in to the total.

George McEndoo (2-24) and Lee Cole (2-22) were B&P’s leading bowlers.

Andy Barton (25) gave B&P a start, leaving Jack Moore (35) and Brady Saunders (29) to seal victory inside 29 overs.

WOODBURY & Newton St Cyres bounced back from their battering by Chardstock with a three-wicket win over visiting Axminster.

Paul Miller (41) and Joe Elsworth (24) had the only double-figure scores in Axminster’s total of 123 for nine.

Dave Church (3-18) edged Nalin Chouhan (2-18) for the bowling plaudits.

Woodbury & NSC looked wobbly at 74 for five – Matt Pile (3-15) and Dave Field (2-22) doing the damage – but an unbeaten 37 from skipper Chouhan got W&NSC over the line.

Woodbury go to Halberton this Saturday.

HALBERTON & Sampford Peverell came a cropper against Chardstock by 165 runs.

Ed Brown (82) top scored for Chardstock after openers Gary Larcombe (51) and Ed Pyman (56) made half-centuries towards a total of 260 for eight.

Adrian Hills had three for 43 for H&SP.

Larcome hadn’t finished with H&SP as he then took five for nine off nine overs to send them sliding to 95 all out.

Hills made 25 batting at 10 in a last-wicket stand of 43 with Chris Salter (13).

TIVERTON were on the receiving end of a 172-run drubbing when they ran into Honiton at Mountbatten Park.

Man of the match Adam Holmes slammed 165 off 99 balls – 18 fours, 11 sixes – as Honiton recovered from 31 for four to reach 293 for eight.

Holmes and Rob Ingram (39) put on 143 for the sixth wicket.

Holmes then bagged five wickets for 14 runs to help skittle Tiverton for 121.

Skipper Richard Pugsley (41) and Ben Stone (19) had the only scores greater than five for Tiverton, whose innings included five ducks.

KENTISBEARE’S title challenge suffered a set back when they went down by six wickets to Upottery.

Ian Oliver (46) and Josh Fahey (27) were Kents’ main run getters in a score of 153 for nine. Martin Howe (25no) chipped in.

Paul Wakefield and James Mitcham had identical figures of three for 21 off nine.

Rob Tasker’s unbeaten 80 – ten fours, three sixes – in a stand of 103 with Jack Larcombe (28) saw Upottery home with more than four overs to spare.
