UPOTTERY groundsman Nigel Wyatt has appealed for help from Devon’s cricket community after the club lost all its mowers in an overnight raid.

Four mowers – two grass cutters, a scarifier and a rotary mower – were stolen from the club’s new Glebe Park ground overnight on Thursday-Friday.

Upottery only moved to their new home two weeks ago having spent £60,000 on developing facilities there.

“All the equipment was in a steel container that was padlocked from the outside and we thought it was pretty secure,” said Wyatt.

“It has left us with a problem as we need some kit in a hurry to prepare the ground.

“If there is anyone who can help us out of a crisis, please get in touch with me.”

Wyatt can be contacted on 07734 805133.

Clubs have also been asked to be suspicious if they are offered any ground maintenance equipment.

Again, contact Wyatt or call the police on 101.
