Louis Morison - chipped in on the chase for Devon U15s against Hampshire

DEVON under-15s sailed into the national quarter-finals of the ECB County Cup with another resounding win - this time over Hampshire.

Hampshire batted first at New Milton CC and were bowled out for 148 in the 49th over.

Abraham KopparambilDevon skipper Jack Moore (Barnstaple & Pilton) led the way with the ball for the visitors finishing with figures of 3-20. Paignton’s Luke Medlock (2-11) and Kingsbridge’s Freddie Ford (2-15) were also among the wickets.

Devon were never really in any trouble on the chase, despite losing opener James Horler (Exmouth) early on.

Fellow opener Abraham Kopparambil (Ivybridge) helped guide Devon towards the finishing line with his knock of 56.

Moore chipped in with 28 with the job being finished by Medlock (23no) and Morison (22no) as Devon won by six wickets.

The victory is the sixth in as many games for Devon and guarantees them a quarter-final ECB Cup slot.

Details are yet to be confirmed but it may be against Middlesex or Surrey next month.
