HOWZAT for spruce up! Seaton Cricket and Lawn Tennis Club have tidied up their facilities thanks to a grant from Viridor Credits.

The waste-management firm weighed in with a grant of £11,144.67 towards repairs at the Court Lane club.

The money has been spent repairing a leaky pavilion roof, resurfacing a badly pitted access road into the club car park – and there was enough left over to electronically digitize the cricket scoreboard.

Lyme Bay Law stumped up 10 per cent of the total cost of the project in a partnership with Viridor.

Chris Gamwell, Seaton’s cricket chairman, said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Viridor Credits for their generous grant to this community club, without which we could not have carried out these improvements to our facilities.

“We are also grateful to Lyme Bay Law for funding 10 per cent of the total cost of the project.’

Gareth Williams, representing Viridor Credits, said: ‘We are proud to assist local sporting community clubs in improving their facilities which are essential if young people are to be encouraged to play sport and develop their personalities.’
