A fine win against Wales at Newport Cricket Club, with good bowling and fielding performances, where neither side batted particularly well; though so special to see Morgan going to ground - all that work during the winter training paid off!

Having won the toss and put Wales into bat, the first wicket was to fall in the seventh over with Wales only on 12 and wickets continued to fall especially to Sophie Florides (6-3-14-3) and Olivia Churcher (6-1-12-2) when Wales only put on 24 runs in 15 overs wig a loss of 6 wickets. Devon bowled Wales out for 90 in the 41st over.

Looking like a small and attainable target Devon went into bat; but it was to prove not as easy to score the runs, as Wales had experienced. Devon lost their first wicket in just the second over and had yet to score. With the second wicket falling in the next over, it required Devon to find someone to remain with opener Sophie Florides and this initially was Morgan Harrison-Hooton (17) and had a partnership of 28. Sadly there was a tumble of wickets, losing 3 wickets for just 4 runs. Fortunately for Devon, it was the U15s Olivia Churcher ((19) and Maddie Holifield (23*) playing up, who took us over the line with the bat.

Devon won by 2 wickets with just over 17 overs to spare.
