The unbeaten Devon U15 side at Lewdown

Devon under-15s continued their unbeaten run with their fifth ECB County Cup victory on the trot, this time against Somerset

Somerset batted first at Lewdown CC and found runs hard to come by with some tight bowling and good fielding from Devon.

Spinners Abraham Kopparambil (3-20), Max Hancock (2-10) and Sam Read (2-18) did most of the damage with the ball as Somerset were skittled out for just 104 in the 42nd over.

An opening stand of 52 between James Horler (26) and Kopparambil (21) set Devon on the road to victory.

Louis Morison (28no) finished the job as Devon sailed home by seven wickets after just 21 overs.

Somerset  104 (Kopparambil 3-20), Hancock (2-10), Read (2-18), Devon 108 for 3 (Horler 26, Kopparambil 21, Morison 28no). Devon won by seven wickets,

VISITORS Berkshire were left in a spin as Devon's under-15s recorded their fourth ECB Cup win on the trot.

Berkshire batted first and it quickly became apparent that the Bovey Tracey CC wicket was one for the spinners to exploit.

Ivybridge leg break bowler Abraham Kopparambil did just that finishing with 4-18 from nine overs. Freddie Ford went on to grab three wickets for 20 runs from his 10 overs and Sam Read ended up with 2-30 as the visitors were bowled out for 141.

Openers Kopparambil (24) and James Horler (37) put on 69 for Devon's first wicket.

Skipper Jack Moore (26no) and Louis Morison (25) did the rest as Devon sailed home in the 34th over for the loss of just four wickets.
