IVYBRIDGE were on the wrong end of an eight-wicket drubbing when they travelled to Lewdown.

Harry Solomon top scored for the Bridge with 49 off 86 balls in a total of 208 for nine.

Solomon, who went in at nine for one in the second over, was fifth out on 115. He shared a stand of 21 with Adam Huxtable and another of 63 with Jeewan DeSilva (23).

Kelvin Trent made 42 in the second half of the innings. He and George Thompson (18) knocked up 48 for the sixth wicket.

There were two wickets each for Dino Visser (2-47) and Tallan Burns (2-40). Dave Ball and Nick Smith – identical figures of one for 31 off 10 – proved hard to get away.

Ball then top scored with 93 not out as Lewdown hared to victory with nearly five overs to spare.

An opening stand of 125 with Kian Burns (49) set the tone. Burns and Leon Horne went close together, but Dino Visser (40no) put on 73 unbroken with Ball to win the game.
