T20 action at Exmouth starts at 1.30pm

THE Servicemaster Devon T20 Cup swings into action on Sunday with the first round of games in the new-look competition.

Gone are the old local qualification competitions, to be replaced by six pools of three teams each.

Clubs in North Devon will continue to use the North Devon Cup as their qualifying tournament.

Some groups will be played out in a day, such as Pool One which will be decided at Bovey Tracey where Abbotskerswell and Torquay are the other combatants.

The County Ground is the venue for two games in Pool Five. Heathcoat face Plymouth at 1pm. Followed by Exeter against Plymouth around four o’clock.

The last game – Heathcoat  versus Exeter – is scheduled for Knightshayes on Thursday, June 8 (6.15pm).

Pool Six only has two teams: Exmouth and Cornwood. They meet at the Maer Ground on Sunday with a 1.30pm start.

Pool Two gets under way at Kensham Park where Bradninch entertain Sidmouth, whose side will be depleted due to county call-ups.

A further round of fixtures will take place next week.
