Both competitions run alongside each other, the Championship at A Division level is a three-day competition with four-innings matches. The Cup competition is one-day 50 overs per side format played for the first time in 2016 in coloured clothing with white balls. Click right for the competition rules.

The winners of the four A Division Championship groups will progress to semi finals and then a final being played on Wednesday 17 - Friday 19 August at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground in Sussex. The winners of the Cup groups will progress to semi finals and then a final of the A and B Division competitions, both finals being played at Kibworth Cricket Club in Leicestershire on Sunday 21 August.

The 2015 County Championship Final took place at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground and Hampshire beat Warwickshire in a closely fought match. The Royal London 'A & B Division' Cup Finals were played at Kibworth CC. Surrey comfortably beat Derbyshire in the A Division Final while the B Division Final saw Buckinghamshire beat Cambridgeshire.
