DEVON officials will be promoting a membership campaign at Sunday’s home game against Oxfordshire at Sidmouth.

Anyone can join the county club and enjoy the benefits of being a member.

County club members get free admission to all home Championship and Trophy games and a seat in the members’ enclosure.

Travelling supporters will be entitled to use all the facilities of the host club in the same way as member of the host club.

Members automatically receive a copy of the Devon Cricket Yearbook, normally priced at £5, which has a 40-page section on the county club.

Additionally, all members receive the county’s own souvenir brochure, which contains information on the club as well as exclusive interviews with players and officials.

Membership has declined steadily in recent years from a high point in the 1950s when it was around a thousand.

An incentive to become a member is the chance to enjoy a catered day out for two at a home game as a VIP guest of the club.

“The names of all members will be entered into three free draws in May, June and July, with a prize each time of full hospitality for two for a day at a home county game,” said Neil Gamble, the county’s chief executive officer.
