BRIDESTOWE will welcome back some familiar faces for the 2017 season.

All-rounders Dan Fogerty and Brandon Horn have both signed from Lewdown.

Fogerty is rejoining having left Bridestowe last season for the challenge of A Division cricket with Lewdow.

Bridestowe - Dan Fogerty is second left at the frontFogerty takes over as 1st XI captain with Gary Sizmur moving to vice-captain after the birth of his first child over the winter.

Fogerty led the T20 side to the Tamar League title last year and will have plenty of senior players around to assist him.

Fogerty opened the bowling for Lewdown in the A Division last year and also scored some handy middle-order runs.

Bridestowe will be hoping he can continue that form back in C Division West. Horn was leading run scorer in the Tamar T20 league last year and he was also Lewdown 2nd XI’s second top run scorer.

Bridestowe would welcome any more new players before the start of the year to further boost their 1st and the 2nd XIs.

Indoor nets will start in the next few weeks. Anyone interested in joining Bridestowe  should email Charlie Ewen

LEWDOWN are set to have a new captain this season following the resignation of Tallan Burns,

Matt Witcher will be taking over the reigns of what is likely to be a much-changed side.

Among the comings and goings at the Recreation Field is the arrival of batting all-rounder Richard Goldsby-West from Yelverton, who now have to find a new captain.

Witcher and ex-Mount Kelly scholar Goldsby-West are former rugby team-mates at Tavistock.
