Chris Metters - back with Exmouth for 2017

EXMOUTH have already started team building for next season’s assault  on the Premier Division.

First to sign on the dotted line is 6ft 8ins quick bowler Sam Harris, who is studying at the University of Exeter.

Chris Metters in his Warwickshire days celebrating a wicket“Sam is fairly new to cricket but has a lot of natural talent,” said Exmouth captain Richard Baggs.

“Having Sam on board gives us another seam option and with his height he will trouble players with his bounce.

“He is a really good signing and strengthens our squad nicely.”

Back at the Maer next season after a stint with Bradninch is former Warwickshire and Devon all-rounder Chris Metters.

Metters’ pro career was cut short by injury just as it was getting going and he returned to club cricket with Exmouth in 2013 before switching to Bradninch.

Metters, a former academy footballer with Exeter City, has put football first over the last couple of years.

His appearances for Bradninch were limited to T20 cricket this season and Baggs doesn’t expect Metters to play every week.

“His availability will be limited but he will be able to cover if anyone else is injured and play when he can, also in T20,” said Baggs.
