DEVON County Cricket Club has said ‘thank-you’ to the clubs who help them stage home matches.

Devon play games all over the county during the season and rely on clubs to stage them.

As clubs don’t charge ground hire, Devon tries to help them in practical ways.

That help takes the form of grants or loans towards ground equipment, such as roll on covers, flat sheet covers, sightscreens and water removal equipment.

“Clubs could chose from a direct grant from the county up to a maximum of £850 or interest-free loans up to a maximum of £4,500,” said Devon treasurer Chris Theedom.

Clubs helped in the latest round of grants or loans are Exeter, Torquay, North Devon, Sandford, Sidmouth and Exmouth.

Neil Gamble, Devon’s chief executive, said: “We are extremely grateful to all these clubs for  the use of their grounds during the current and past seasons.

“We hope the funds provided have enhanced these clubs’  ability to stage club and county cricket.”
