BOVEY Tracey crushed Barton by 123 runs in the South Devon League U17 Cup final.

Bovey captain Tom Andrew won the toss and bravely decided to bat on a fresh, green track at Shaldon.

it proved the right decision as Bovey's batters put Barton’s bowlers to the sword.

Harry Senior top scored with a quick fire 52 not out in 24 balls, George Pitman bashed 40 off 19 balls and captain Andrew made 23 from 11 deliveries.

Bovey finished with a formidable 216 for seven in their 20 overs.

The wickets were shared around the Barton bowlers with Ben Lipton (2-19) having the best figures.

Barton did their best to chase the Bovey total but sharp fielding by 12 year old Harry Pitman ran-out two Barton batters in consecutive overs.

Connor Harford top scored with a studious 25 and captain Adrian Lipton made 24 off 26 balls in Barton’s 93 for four.

Pick of the Bovey bowlers was Chris Yabsley, who had one for 17 from four overs.
