FAST bowler Joe Gore has stepped closer to his dream of playing for England under-19s.
Joe, who attends Queen’s College, Taunton was in the South West squad for the England Development Programme’s Super 4s competition, which took places at the National Cricket Performance Centre (NCPC) at Loughborough University.
The Budleigh Salterton youngster took five wickets as the South West lost their first match but they won their next two to reach the final against the North, which was unfortunately washed out.
“It was a great experience,” said 6ft 7ins Gore.
“The week was really busy and the England selectors were there watching throughout.”
Joe, who has just turned 17, has an Academy contract with Somerset CCC and plays regularly for Somerset 2nd XI.
