Rose Ball scores her first county 50

Match Report   Devon v Somerset

Having been beaten by Somerset, away earlier in the season by a resounding 82 runs, there was no doubt that this was going to be a very competitive match.
On a beautiful summer's day at Torquay Cricket Club, Somerset having won the toss, put Devon into bat. Devon didn't have quite the start they had wanted, losing the first wicket on the very first ball! The girls were 3 wickets down for 29 in the 12áµ—Ê° over, when Becca Halliday (35) and Rose Ball (54) came into bat. The was some fine shot selection by both girls, and this was Rose's first ever 50 for the county.  Somerset bowled well with wickets being shared between by their nine bowlers. Devon were all out for 155 in the 35áµ—Ê° over.

With a competitive score to chase, Somerset came into bat. Despite Devon struggling to reduce their wides, wickets did come; mostly from Sophie Florides, 3-23; Hollie Perkin, 3-31 and Becca Halliday, 2-32; though Maddie Holifield and Ciara O'Keefe (her first wicket of the season) both took a wicket each.

With a tense ending where Somerset required just 23 runs and having 10 overs to get them, Devon bowled the Somerset girls out for 137! Devon won by 18 runs.
