Job Title: Club & Community Cricket Coach

(West Devon and North Devon)

Salary - £19K + expenses

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

 12 month contract with a view to extension.

The Devon Cricket Board (DCB) wish to appoint two full time Club & Community Cricket Coaches to support the implementation of its strategic plan in the West Devon region and in the North Devon region.  These posts are supported by Chance to Shine, the England & Wales Cricket Board and the Lords Taverners.

Devon Cricket Board Ltd seeks to employ two highly motivated and competent Community Cricket Coaches to work as part of the cricket development team.  The successful candidates will join the existing team and will be responsible for supporting and delivering parts of the business plan of the DCB.

The post holders will be an integral part of West Devon or North Devon, working to enhance the experience young people in education and clubs have within cricket.  These roles will work towards the effective delivery of quality cricket across West Devon and North Devon, coaching in the school and club setting.

The successful candidates will have experience of working in cricket/sports coaching and working with various partners, developing core sporting activities and increasing the number of children taking an interest in cricket.

You will need to be passionate about and committed to cricket coaching at a local level.

Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised using their own initiative.

Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected. Applicants must hold a full driving license and be able/willing to work some evenings and weekends.

These posts will be based at Plymouth Marjon University (West Devon) or Barnstaple (North Devon).  For this role, it would be an advantage if you have experience of cricket/sports development at grassroots level and have a sound knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the game as well as experience of dealing with the education sector, voluntary sport sector and/or local authorities.

You will be a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm together with good administration and organisational skills. Equally you will be an excellent communicator with a passion for the development of cricket/sport for young people.

These posts are for an initial 12 month fixed term period commencing September/October 2018 and reviewed after the initial fixed period, subject to future funding.
