Devon add Walliker, Golding (pictured) and Shepherd to squad for National Counties Cup quarter-final against Dorset

Matt Golding – first appearance of the season for the Devon all-rounder

DEVON have made a handful of changes to their match-day squad for the National Counties Cup quarter-final against Dorset on Sunday.

There are four fresh faces in the squad travelling to North Perrott, two of them one-day debutants if they get the nod.

Left-arm seamer Jonty Walliker is back in the squad having missed the qualifying win over Cornwall two weeks ago.

Also in for the first time is dual-registered left-arm spinner Max Shepherd, whose first affiliation is the Gloucestershire Academy. He debuted in three-day cricket in the defeat by Herefordshire three weeks ago.

Adam Small, in the 12 but not the XI that faced Cornwall in the last qualifying game, is in the squad.

And all-rounder Matt Golding, whose work commitment in the Home Counties have ruled him out so far this season, is in for the first time.

Missing from the team that defeated Cornwall by 20 runs in the group decider are Ned Leonard, not released by Somerset, and captain Josh Stephens, who has a prior commitment he cannot dodge.

Callum Haggett, who has captained Devon before when Stephens has been absent, will be in charge.
