Around the A Division: Barton looking for springboard win against Exmouth | 'I'm expecting a very competitive game' – Exmouth's Lawrence Greenway

James Doble – set to return for Budleigh against Exeter

AROUND THE A DIVISION

BARTON v EXMOUTH

Barton (Adam Parker): Looking to build on last week’s win over Budleigh and use it as a springboard for our season. It will be a tough game for sure. We have a few faces back who were away last week so selection will be tough this week.

Exmouth (Lawrence Greenway): It will be tough at Barton, it's never an easy place to go and they had a good win last week so will be looking to continue that momentum. A few of our lads haven't played there so will be a new experience for them. That being said, a couple of our lads know it well, some better than others. I'm expecting a very competitive game.

PLYMPTON v THORVERTON

Plympton (Jonty Walliker):Team still to be confirmed, Thorverton are a good side who have beaten strong sides Exeter and Barton. We are looking to continue our form and make it three from three this Saturday. Couple missing this week so we have brought back the veterans, and we look forward to an appearance from Keith Donohue and Andy Walter.

Thorverton (Jake Choules): Couple of tough away games for us now starting with Plympton on Saturday, which is a new ground for most of us. By all accounts they have an explosive batting line up so we will have to stick together and be on top of our game to get anything. Paul Fielder is still away and Greed and Diamond also away so there will be some changes to the top order. An opportunity for others to show what they can do and for us to approach things slightly differently.

TORQUAY v KILMINGTON

Torquay (Tom Drake): Putting last week (lost to Exeter) behind us and looking forward to this week’s fixture. Kilmington have had some good results this year so we won't be taking anything for granted. As a team we are gelling well and, even last week, the boys stuck together. Many individuals are yet to get out of second or third gear and I believe we will still have more to give. This week is all about basics; bowl consistent lines, take catches and occupy the crease. Hopefully we can get back to the positive results and form we've been showing recently. As for players, I've damaged the bottom of my foot playing in the seconds last week and have a new-born to look after so will not be available. Sadly George Benton has moved back to Paignton. His reasons were fairly justified but we are sad to see him go. We welcome back in George Allen (family illness) and Jono Colgate.

Kilmington (Brett Garner): Looking to bounce back after last week (lost to Plympton). A couple back (thankfully) but still not full strength as of yet, Matt Pile in for his first game of the season; waiting on a couple of injuries. Expecting a tough game against Torquay who will also be looking to bounce back after last week!

SEATON v ABBOTSKERSWELL

Seaton (Joe Berry): Three changes see Olly Aplin, Tom Brown and Jamie Bond come in.

Abbotskerswell (Nick Watkin): Team news is Jake Fox who is the 2ndXI’s top wicket taker and has performed well so far this season is in for Chris Clough, who is injured, and Ben Cowdry for Neal Osborn (unavailable). So off-spinner replaced by off-spinner. Great win last weekend and looking to build on that this weekend. We are aware that we will have to be fully on our game to get a positive result.

EXETER v BUDLEIGH SALTERTON

Exeter (Robin Fern): Nothing to report.

Budleigh Salterton (Lloyd Murrin): Looking to get back to winning ways after a couple of bad results. After losing two in a row it's really important we bounce back otherwise you can find yourself in trouble. Looking forward to playing a strong Exeter side and having a competitive game. A few changes with James Doble and Tom Oxland back available.
