B Division briefing: Bovey bristling with Premier experience for derby date against Pens

Peter Bradley, one of the cohort of Premier players in Bovey Tracey 2nd XI against Ipplepen

B DIVISION BRIEFING – WEEK 12

BOVEY TRACEY II v IPPLEPEN

Bovey Tracey (Jeremy Christophers): We are looking forward to playing cricket again this week having missed last weeks match. Having beaten the divisional leaders Kilmington the last time out, we are trying to build some momentum against Ipplepen who are certainly going to feature in the promotion fight. We have half the team who have Premier experience of one degree or another, so it looks like a good game on paper.

Ipplepen (Simon Tapley): We are on but still have lingering covid unavailability. Will be good to get back on the park after a covid cancellation last week. Amazing to think we are in week 11 and have only played six games. No Tom Durman or Ben Forsey this week still suffering with the after effects of Covid. No Mawgan Penrice as it's his stag do and no Marcus Green as he is working. It will give a good opportunity to some of the younger lads to experience what B Division cricket is like. Bovey are a very strong side, but we are just looking forward to getting out on the pitch.

DARTINGTON & TOTNES v IVYBRIDGE

Dartington & Totnes (Alex Winch): Glad to be playing having been cancelled last Saturday. Huge game against another side fighting at the bottom end of the table and know we will have to perform at our best if we are to get the win.

Ivybridge (Adam Huxtable): Still don't have a confirmed team as we are waiting on a couple of Covid test results from contacts of a couple of players! This is a huge game for us and we need to turn and give 100 per cent with bat and ball to get the result we want!

KILMINGTON v CHUDLEIGH

Kilmington (Brett Garner): Few missing this week with stag do and work commitments, looking to get back on track after two tough games against strong second teams de railing the season a little bit!

Chudleigh CC (Will Heather):We are looking forward to getting some cricket in this weekend. We are at good strength, with a couple of changes. Out are Matt Heather, Mark Russell and Ben Holmes. In are Adam Sercombe and Ben Cowling. We haven't played Kilmington yet this season, but know we are in for a tough game against a team who are very good at home.

PLYMSTOCK v HEATHCOAT

Plymstock (James Nicholls): Home to what looks like a very strong Heathcoat side. I don't know much about them to be Plymstock's Jason Williamshonest but their results have been good and we should be in for a very good game. Team-wise two changes: Adam Stevenson and Charles Martin are out and back in come Jason Williams and Rhys Williams. Hoping to carry on the positive, clever cricket we have been playing and keep taking forward steps as a side

Heathcoat (Will Hodson): Not entirely sure on the make up of the team yet. We'll have a young side and I'm really looking forward to seeing the likes of Ed Butler, Will Bucknell and Tom Reynolds kick on and show what they can do over the rest of the season. We'll be looking to keep improving and take 10 wickets this week.

THORVERTON v BIDEFORD

Thorverton (Jake Choules): We are really looking forward to it - top of the table clash at home in the sunshine. Expecting Bideford to be a much bigger test this time around. Should make for a great game. Two changes from the Ivybridge game a couple of weeks ago as I am back in for Bobby Heard (2ndXI) and Paul Fielder coms in for Andy Pitt (unavailable).

Bideford: Batter James Greenleaf comes back into the side.
