REVISED: Bradninch suspend cricket due to Covid outbreak at club and in village

BRADNINCH have suspended all cricket activities for the next seven days because of multiple positive Covid tests in and around the village.

The club have posted on their social media accounts: “As a result of multiple positive Covid tests in and around Bradninch, and at the club, we have taken the decision to suspend all cricket related activities until next Wednesday next week (July 14).

“This includes both senior men’s games at the weekend (1st XI at home to Torquay and 2nd XI away to Budleigh Salterton II).

Steve Birley, the Bradninch CC vice-chairman, said: “Clearly not an ideal situation for anyone but health and safety of players and club members is the priority.

“Hopefully everybody remains relatively unaffected and we can move forwards again next week.”

At the time the announcement was posted four playing members of the Bradninch club had tested positive for Covid.

"The rest are all self-isolating." added Birley.
