TOPSHAM St James defeated Ottery St Mary II by 10 wickets in a non-event of a game.

Ottery were skittled out for 29 in just 18.2 overs with St James’ Ross Treleaven bagging five of their wickets for 15 runs.

Brian Jeary took three for six and Declan Wardell mopped up the rest.

No Ottery batter made more than five! That was Tom Jeacock.

The runs were knocked off by Wardell (10no) and Jonathan Sapwell (17no) who were finished and done before the end of the fifth over.

HONITON II were on the wrong end of an eight-wicket scoreline when they hosted Braunton II.

Rob Ingham (46) top scored for Honiton and chip-ins from Nathan Groves (24), Richard Potter (28) and Alan Ostler (24no) produced a 40-over total of 161 for six.

Gary Osborne (3-21) took the bowling plaudits for Braunton after Mark Johnson (1-24) and Shash Iyer (2-26) had kept things tight from the start.

Braunton could not have wished for a better start as openers Julian Lambert (57) and Nigel Cross (76) knocked up 135 for the first wicket.

By the time Cross was second out on 152 the target was 11 to win and the game over as a contest.

YELVERTON got started at Babbacombe. Only 26 overs were bowled by the Torquay side before the weather intervened.

Yelverton were 111 for four when rain stopped play. David Ackford was unbeaten on 48 and Rob Grove just out for 29.
