Premier previews in brief

Joe Hagan-Burt, who is back for Plymouth against Paignton

PAIGNTON v PLYMOUTH

Plymouth Captain’s comment: “Happy but not satisfied at the half way stage. We've played some superb cricket but also some average cricket. If we can be more consistent I'm confident we'll have a strong second half.”

Plymouth team news: Tom and Jack Hughes in. Joey Hagan-Burt back from holiday.

John Varcoe

Paignton captain’s comment: “We know what Plymouth will bring and obviously Riaz is the danger man. We know if we get him early the game will be very different.

“We are just going to keep doing what we've been doing, which is playing hard and playing as a team. “We can only take it game by game and not get ahead of ourselves.

“I set the target of top four at the start of the year and that is still the aim.

“We are determined to keep winning and keep pressure on Heathcoat.”

Paignton team news: Noah Wright is away on holiday and Stephen George is back from illness.

George Benton

EXETER v SANDFORD

Exeter captain’s target: “A more consistent back-end campaign with the bat.”

Exeter team News: No Nathan Gilchrist this week, Ben Green unable to bowl.

Tom Pedel

Sandford captain’s comments: “Obviously looking to move up the table. It has been a tough few weeks but we are back to nearly full strength this week.

“Looking for a big performance this week to set the standards for the second half.

“Consistency in all departments will be key to this. We need to be on the ball from the start as we know Exeter have a couple of key performers.”

Sandford team news: “Sandy Allen and Neil Bettis come back in this week, two blokes who would make a massive difference to any side. Charles Fitzroy is back from university. He made a big impact to the side last summer and it will be great to have him around for the rest of the season.”

Richard Foan

SIDMOUTH v BOVEY TRACEY

Sidmouth captain’s comments: “Been a lot of talk post Paignton so the boys are looking forward to getting out on the pitch as all have a point to prove and hopefully show it was just a bad day at the office.

“The league is probably out of our reach, prompting a shift in focus. With a raft of unavailability in the second half of the season it should naturally open up some opportunities to blood some youngsters and see what they can do at the level up.

“We also have the T20 to look at and will going hard at that.”

Sidmouth team news: “Luke Bess unavailable as at Matt Abell’s (Tom's brother) wedding. Max Hancock back available.

“Elliot Rice comes into the top order after a prolific season in the 2nd XI thus far and will hopefully be given a prolonged chance in the side  to show what he can bring.

“Yours truly drops into the 2nd XI for my seventh away game in nine fixtures.”

Nick Gingell

Bovey Tracey captain’s comments: “We are looking to build on the positives of the first half of the season.

“We showed in the first half how dangerous a team we can be but we need to become more consistent in all three departments.

“This weekend won't be easy against a Sidmouth side who, I'm sure, will be looking to make amends after last week.

Bovey Tracey team news: “We are back to full strength and ready for the challenge."
