Attwater said Read and Ferro were the stars of the show.

“Their excellent partnership of 252 set up the win,” said Attwater.

“Good bowling and fielding then restricted Chardstock to less than 200 on a good wicket.”

Clyst are second in the table heading for Upottery this Saturday.

“We were much better for the whole game on Saturday, but owe a lot to Andrew Chave's brutal hitting at the end, which was fun to watch.”

Kents moved ahead of Honiton at the bottom. They go put some more distance between them as the two sides meet at Rectory Park this Saturday.

A second collapse to 144 for eight left Honiton too much to do. Willy Graham (20) and Corey Lapping (49) gave it a go and added 67 for the ninth wicket to earn two batting bonus points.

CLYST Hydon shot up two places in the table even though they lost by 31 runs at Feniton.

The way the bonus point system works Hydon did enough in defeat to go past Upottery and Chardstock into third place.

Mark Salter (55) and Chris May (67) both hit half-centuries as Feniton amassed 261 for five.

The bowling damage was done by Lewis Rhodes (5-51) – his maiden five-wicket haul in the first team – and Fletcher Eaglesome (4-49).
