Meanwhile Friday (April 12) will be a difficult day for many at Bradninch CC for that is the day Brigette Acton’s funeral.

Brigette was married to Bradninch stalwart Chris Acton and mother of new 1st XI skipper Eliot Acton and ladies captain Megan Acton.

Club president Roy Nott is Brigette’s father and vice-chairman Paul Nott her brother.

Brigette's funeral is being held at St Disen’s Church in Bradninch at 12.30pm with a wake afterwards at the cricket club.

Derrick Foan, the Bradninch chairman, summed up the sadness in the club when he said of Brigette: "She was so loved and so close to all we are."

The family have asked for donations to Pete’s Dragon, a suicide bereavement support charity, in lieu of flowers.
