Pyle quits Exmouth for tilt at the title with Heathcoat

On the move! Devon batsman Dan Pyle, who is on the way from Exmouth to Heathcoat for the 2019 season

HARD-hitting left-hander Dan Pyle is the latest addition to Heathcoat’s squad for their tilt at the Tolchards Devon Cricket League Premier Division title in 2019.

Pyle, who started out with Shobrooke Park, has been part of Exmouth’s Premier squad since 2015. His Premier average is a shade under 30 and he has accumulated seven half-centuries and two tons. His career best with the bat is 135, which was taken off North Devon last season.

Having gone through the Devon age-groups at youth level, Pyle graduated to the Devon senior side in 2016 and played in five out of six Unicorns Championship games last season.

Pyle will be linking up with former Exmouth team-mate Callum French at Heathcoat. He announced his departure last month.

Heathcoat have also confirmed that bowling all-rounder Malcolm Cloete will be returning from South Africa for a second summer with the club. He took 23 league wickets in 2018.

PLYMSTOCK’s recruiting campaign for a B Division promotion push continues with the signing of Karl Vendrasco, a 28-year-old Australian who was a heavy run scorer for Burwood Briars in New South Wales second grade cricket last season and is run getting for the first grade team this term.

Ipplepen, another side pushing for promotion from the B Division, hope to have Aiden Phillips from Hallora CC bowling left-arm seamers for them in the season ahead.

Phillips won’t be short of a mate if he needs one as A Division Abbotskerswell have signed his Hallora colleague James Williams, who bats and bowls off-spin.
