KENN won the derby clash with Exwick by 140 runs to stay 29 points clear at the top of the D West table.

Nick Rose (3-46) had Kenn in trouble at 16 for three, but James Gosling’s half century got them going.

There was more trouble in the middle order caused by Rehann Caryl (3-37) and at 116 for eight the leaders seemed in trouble.

Pat Boot it nine fours and two sixes on his way to 57 in a stand of 79 with Pete Chislett.

Ross Pascoe (3-41) removed Boot, but last pair Chislett (44) and Hugh Stronge (22) added another 48 to reach 243 all out in the last over.

Exwick slumped to 33 for five in reply as the Thomas boys – Jack (4-33) and Ollie (3-11) got to work.

Ray Grunsell, ninth out for 36, delayed the inevitable. Exwick were all out for 103.

CHELSTON & Kingskerswell proved too strong for St Marychurch Old Boys even playing a man short.

Erik Gregersen clouted 91 and there were half centuries for Russ Bennett (55) and Dylan Karsson (50no) as 10-man C&K amassed 277 for four.

St Marychurch were all out for 88 in reply – Mark Faulkner taking four of their wickets for 12 runs. Jake Keany had a brace.

Richard Molloy made 23 against his former club for his new one.

Chelston & Kingskerswell are at home to leaders Kenn this Saturday. St Marychurch face Yelverton.

WHITCHURCH fell apart on the chase against Yelverton, whose total of 215 for eight didn’t look out of the way at one stage.

Richard Townsend (47) and Christiaan van Niekerk (45) were the prime run getters for Yelverton. There were two wickets each for Marc Kerswill and Josh Meadows.

Ben Powell (34) and Nigel Barriball (38) got Whitchurch to 101 for two – then the wheels fell off.

Meadows (44) saw a procession of batters arrive and depart on the way to a total of 156 all out. Meadows was ninth to go, one of four scalps for Hadleigh Scott-Kirk.
