Bradninch expecting big things of Aussie all-rounder

BRADNINCH are expecting big things from overseas player Matt Foster when they return to the Premier Division this summer.

Foster, 23 is a highly regarded all-rounder from Brisbane where he plays first grade for Western Suburbs District CC. He is an opening bowler and hard-hitting, middle-order batter.

He is averaging around 10 with the ball and 30 with the bat this season, and has first grade centuries under his belt in previous seasons.

Foster has one previous season in the UK with Sprowston CC in 2013 where he scored 1,500 runs and took 51 wickets in all competitions.

Bradninch skipper Gary Chappell is delighted with the club’s latest signing.

“If he lives up to expectations, I doubt there will be a better cricketer in the league,” said Chappell.

“He is travelling with his partner Emily, who is also a keen cricket player and coach.

“I have little doubt that Emily and Matt will prove invaluable to the club both on and off the field as they help the younger members of the men’s team, as well as all the junior teams.”
