Devon U14s four way Twenty20 Bash

Winners 2016 - South, West and East Districts

Sunday July 31st 2016, Blundell’s School by Tim Read

Blundell's school provided the perfect setting for this annual four way divisional competition, now played at the U14 age group. Fifty boys represented the four districts for this one day event with all teams playing each other, resulting in the boys playing three games and an impressive 120 overs in the day.

The now annual competition was the brainchild of the South Manager, James Ford, who along with the three other managers run the day.

Commenting on the day, Tim Read, East Manager, said "seeing all the boys enjoying a full day's cricket played at a high standard with an excellent spirit is a great event, our thanks go to Blundell's School for their ongoing support”.

The day ended in a three way tie between the South, West and East Districts with the teams adopting an inclusive approach to ensure all the boys had opportunities to shine. Highlight of the day was the clash between East and South which resulted in a thrilling 171 run tie, with the South the ultimate winners after the ensuing Super Over.

The excellent Blundell's tracks provided the opportunity for the batters to express themselves with some great stroke play resulting in some high scoring games.

Our picture shows our three winning captains, Jack Tucker, Freddie Ford and James White holding the coveted Blundell's Bash trophy.

Well done to all the boys on a great day of high quality cricket.
