DEVON all-rounder Dom Bess has been called into the England U19 squad for the second four-day match against Sri Lanka which starts in Northampton tomorrow.

Bess, who made his Somerset debut against Pakistan last month, has linked up with the squad earlier than planned, having previously been selected for the three-match Royal London One-Day Series which starts at Wormsley next Wednesday.

England have had to revise their squad due to injuries ruling out Worcestershire’s Josh Tongue and Durham’s Josh Coughlin.

Revised England Under-19s squad: Holden (Middlesex, capt), Westbury (Worcestershire), Hankins (Gloucestershire), Bartlett (Somerset), Dell (Worcestershire), Pope (Surrey, wk), McCoy (Hampshire), Barnes (Yorkshire), Beard (Essex), Panayi (Warwickshire), Virdi (Surrey), Malik (Worcestershire), Bess (Devon/Somerset).
