Josh Bess
Josh Bess recently retired from the captaincy of Devon CCC,a role that he initially took
on in 2013. He made his debut for Devon in 2007. Throughout his county career he has
played very well including many outstanding all-round performances with bat, ball
and in the field. He was man of the match in the Championship final v Cambridgeshire
in 2011. He led the side to victory v Oxfordshire in the KO Trophy in 2014, bowling
most economically towards the end of the game, to help secure a narrow victory. But
his most outstanding individual performance came on 19th -21st August 2018 in the
Championship win over Dorset at his home club, Sidmouth. He scored a not out double
hundred and then 70, he captured 6 wickets in the match including 5-33 in the Dorset
second innings, and he took six catches in a match which he dominated throughout.
